Wushu is looking for a lighting artist! We understand that lighting in games can make or break a player’s experience, and that’s why we’re looking for a person that is proactive and driven to create high quality art alongside a top-notch development team.

  • Implement creative and technical lighting briefs to develop the look and feel of the project
  • Use your skill as a lighting artist to elevate environments, characters, and gameplay
  • Work with the art director and wider art team to define tasks and overcome technical challenges
  • Collaborate with the rest of the development team to craft incredible game experiences
  • Previous experience as a lighting artist within the games industry
  • A strong portfolio of work demonstrating your ability to work across a variety of styles
  • A solid understanding of baked and real-time PBR lighting techniques
  • The ability to take direction and implement visually stunning and performant lighting solutions
  • Impeccable composition and colour theory
  • A deep understanding of all aspects of the UE4 lighting workflow
  • A forward-looking approach to future lighting and engine developments
  • Knowledge of raytracing within Unreal Engine
  • Understanding of post-processing and how it ties into lighting look and feel
  • Solid Maya and general 3D skills
  • Use of Blueprints to streamline the lighting workflow
  • Experience of using offline rendering engines (V-Ray, Redshift, Octane, Arnold…)
  • A good understanding of real-world lighting and composition, demonstrated through photography or similar
