System Administrator

Wushu Studios is looking for an experienced System Administrator for our growing team! If you’re independent, analytical and personable then we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be the key point of contact for developers, directors and external clients working on an array of different games, across multiple platforms and engines. You’ll be proactive, using your experience to improve our IT systems and processes while making sure the studio keeps on running.

(Please note: While this role will be on-site, the majority of our studio is currently remote. We’ve taken the necessary steps to ensure our studio is a safe place to work for the developers that need to be there.)

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, monitoring and improvement of backbone services for the running of the studio
  • Management of services for workstation users within a Windows Active Directory domain
  • Front line management of support requests from team members
  • Strategic planning of deployments within a fast-growing AAA studio
  • Policy, disaster recovery, certification planning
  • Service agreement consultation with our clients
  • Bare metal deployments of project services within a Linux based environment
  • Service binding of authentication flows within an LDAP directory
  • Layer 2 networking, including multi-routing, VLAN, VPN topics
  • Procurement of hardware relating to all technical aspects of the role (workstations, servers, utility)
  • Support the studio’s remote workers
  • On-boarding of new members of the team
  • Coordinate compliance, security auditing and threat detection
  • Provision and auditing of software licensing requirements
  • Hardware inventory and management

Qualifications
  • Demonstrable pragmatic ability to solve the wide variety of problems that can be presented within a multi-client game studio working on AAA projects
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has proven experience managing a workload with different dependencies and priorities
  • Has an expert knowledge of windows services, including Active Directory, HyperV virtual machines, Veem
  • Confident Linux administrator

Desirables
  • Infrastructure as code and automation. Use of tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • Experience in a mid-sized, independent games studio
